Privacy policy

Lumen Bid is electrical takeoff software. This policy covers the website, the sample job, signed-in accounts, and any drawing you upload. Questions go through the FAQ.

It covers personal information (email, name you type) and job data (drawings, counts, prices, shop-book edits). It does not cover sites we link out to, or a distributor catalog you import from your own file.

You can open a job with no account. That job lives in this browser on this computer (local storage). We do not receive the drawing, the BOM, or your cell edits unless you later create an account and we have shipped cloud backup — cloud jobs are not in the product yet.

If you clear site data, close a private window, or switch machines, a guest job does not follow you. Export the BOM (Excel) and the shop book (JSON) before you leave.

If you sign up we store the email you give us, a hashed password, and a session so you can come back. We do not store the password in plain text. We do not require a phone number. Name, shop, and role on the contact form are only used to answer you.

A PDF you upload is processed so the count, homeruns, and assemblies can run. Guest processing happens in the session; we do not sell counts, fixture types, or job names. We do not use your drawings to train a public model. We do not list your jobs in a directory.

We do not sell takeoff data. We do not sell email lists. We do not run third-party advertising on this site.

We share information only if the law requires it, if we use a processor solely to run the service (hosting, email delivery, payments when those are turned on), or if you ask us to (export a file, seat a colleague). Processors may not use your jobs for their own product.

Sign-in uses a session cookie. Guest jobs use local storage, not a tracking cookie. Details: Cookies.

Guest data lasts until you clear it. Account data lasts while the seat is active and a reasonable period after you close it so we can restore a job if you ask. Contact-form notes last long enough to answer you. You can ask us to delete an account by writing through the contact form.

• Use the product as a guest — no email required.
• Export BOM and shop book at any time. Those files are yours.
• Close an account; we delete the login. Exported files on your disk stay yours.
• Ask what we hold on an account, or ask us to correct an email.

Passwords are hashed. Sessions expire. No system is sealed. Do not put a GC’s unreleased drawing on a shared kiosk. Stamp and print from a machine you control.

Lumen Bid is for electrical contractors. It is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

If this policy changes in a way that affects how we handle jobs, we will date the page. Continued use after the date is acceptance of the new text.
